Here are some tips to help you reach your daily water tally:
- Reach for a glass of water first thing in the morning: yes, even before that cup of coffee! Remember that coffee is considered a diuretic, which means that it will actually remove water from your body.
- Carry a bottle of water with you at all times. Aim to consume approximately 5-6 eight oz. servings per day. For those of us with weaker bladders, this amount may be too much. Try to come as close to this amount as possible.
- Have a glass of water before each meal. Not only will it help reach your water consumption goals, but it will also help you moderate your food intake.
Remember that drinking water helps cleanse your body. This means that it can both improve your health and help you lose weight through proper elimination.
