“I can’t do that”, is a phrase I hear a lot. I teach pole fitness, aerial silks and aerial straps at Physical Park and this phrase takes the wind from under my wings. An activity or sport can be so much fun even if there are certain things you cannot do yet.
Consider the following:
You’ll never know your own potential, if you don’t attempt at least once.
- If at first you don’t succeed, try again and give your body time to adjust!
Don’t quit after your first try. Foundations take a while to build, but once they’re there, the world is open to you (this goes for all sports/activities, by the way).
- Enjoy the process!
You’ll never appreciate your progress if you grunt and grovel your way through it.
- SO WHAT?!
Who cares if you can’t do something perfectly? Does that mean it can’t be fun? I can’t sing for the life of me, but that doesn’t stop me from belting out Adele in my car or with my best friend (and a glass of wine).
Next time you stand at our health bar watching my aerial silks class or pop your head into a pole fitness classes, thinking to yourself “there’s no way I can do that”, think again! Everyone starts somewhere. Woman up and come try something new.
