We all want to accomplish the resolutions that we set for ourselves in the new year.
Starting them off strong is easy, but maintaining them can sometimes be difficult.
In the case of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is sometimes discouraging; all it takes is one little excuse to stop your routine and halt your progress.
Here are some tricks and tips to get you in shape and help you stay on track with your resolution in the new year.
Keep Track Of Your Progress
Keep track of your workouts by writing them all down so that you are accountable when you slip up.
It’s normal to miss a few workouts once in a while, life gets busy and hectic at times, but you can’t let that stop you from staying on track.
Writing down each workout also reminds you of the effort and hard work you put into every workout.
Soon you will begin craving your workouts as they become a habit in your daily life.
Don’t Limit What You Eat
Allow yourself to have treats that you love, don’t swear off certain foods as bad or naughty.
Doing that can lead to binging, which is never good.
Allowing yourself to have your favorite foods in moderation will help you take control of your health and live a healthier lifestyle.
Splurge A Little On New Gear
Buy yourself a new workout item to get that extra motivation to get to the gym and smash a workout.
Whether it be that sports bra you’ve had your eye on, those flashy running shoes, or those vibrant leggings you’ve always wanted, having new workout gear gives you that extra confidence and motivation you need to work up a sweat at the gym.
When you look good, you feel good, it’s an incredible feeling.
Set Goals
Sometimes going to the gym can make you feel overwhelmed or lost.
You think to yourself: “Where do I start? What do I do?”
It may hinder your workouts or stop you from going altogether.
Booking a session with a trainer can help you avoid wasting time at the gym and achieve the results you want.
Try setting realistic goals with a reasonable timeline to accomplish it.
If you set goals for yourself; it will give you the focus you need at the gym.
Get a Workout Buddy
Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or your significant other, a workout buddy is the best motivation to hit the gym and get in shape.
Send each other motivational quotes, goals or recipe ideas.
Sign up for an event such as a half marathon for example – train for it together, you will have less excuses to skip the gym and something to work towards.
